COLLEGE CAREER GRADUATE - BUSINESS, FINANCE & PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Definition
As a college or university graduate of an accredited four-year institution, trains for and performs first-year professional business, finance, accounting, auditing, or allied assignments.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Incumbents in this class carry a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, economics, statistics, human resources, or related discipline.
Incumbents normally advance to the next higher level class in their business field following completion of an approved in-training plan of 6-24 months in duration.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree involving major study in business or public administration or allied field including such majors fields as: accounting, marketing, commerce, finance, statistics, economics, etc.
College or university students, including state employees, who are enrolled and scheduled to complete their degree requirements within 9 months may apply. The degree must be achieved, however, prior to appointment.
Note: Selective certification may be requested and applied to designated disciplines and/or internship/fellowship/work-study programs.
