The Sustainable Washington Listserv is a forum for state and local government agencies and institutions seeking to implement sustainable practices into their workplace. Please note that this is a private listserv for government employees only. Please see below for information on how to subscribe.
This listserve is a place to:
- Share tips and case studies (from your own facility or others)
- News about training opportunities or workshops
- Discussion of issues, ideas and difficult questions
The scope of appropriate topics includes those specifically related to reducing the impact of the operational aspects of our facilities, such as managing our fleets, our buildings, our grounds and planning for new buildings and developments. It also includes issues related to the long-term goals covered under Executive Order 02-03, Sustainable Practices for State Agencies:
- Shifting to clean energy for vehicles and facilities
- Institutionalizing sustainability as an agency value
- Raising employee awareness in the workplace
- Practicing energy and water efficiency
- Shifting to the purchase of non-toxic, recycled and remanufactured products
- Moving toward the reduction and elimination of wastes
