2002 Medical Insurance Data Tabulations
The numbers of Medicare and Medicaid recipients identified from the 2002 Washington State Population Survey do not agree with known administrative counts for the two programs. The briefing paper Accounting for Medicare and Medicaid Recipients (pdf) addresses the misreporting of Medicaid and Medicare receipt in the 2002 State Population Survey. The tabulations for the 2002 medical insurance-related questions are based on the new medical weighting methodology. 1998 and 2000 tabulations reflect the original demographic weighting methodology.
