Washington State Population Survey

The Washington State Population Survey (WSPS) has been an important source of data on the health and welfare of Washington families since 1998. The sixth survey, conducted in Spring 2008, focused primarily on employment, family poverty, in-migration, health, and health Insurance coverage.

The Office of Financial Management (OFM) designed the original survey with consultation from a legislative staff advisory group and an extended network of more than 80 local governments and higher education institutions. Gilmore Research Group, a private, independent research company in Seattle, administered the 2008 survey.

Results from surveys prior to 2008 are available for Washington State and for eight regions within the state. Two regions were added in 2008, representing Snohomish and Pierce counties. The ten 2008 regions and the counties they include are identified below. No data are available for smaller/or other areas.
