Sex Offender Policy Board Projects
As mandated by RCW 9.94A.8673, the Sex Offender Policy Board (SOPB) serves to advise the Governor and Legislature as requested on issues related to sex offender management in Washington. The Governor, or a legislative committee of jurisdiction, may at any time request that the SOPB convene and accept projects in an effort to assist policymakers regarding sex offender policy. In October 2015 Governor Jay Inslee submitted a letter to the SOPB, which requests the review of Washington’s current sex offender policies. In October 2016 the Board completed all projects associated with the Governor’s request and is currently on break until additional projects are received. To view reports and publications associated with this request, please visit our “Publications” tab. For questions regarding specific projects, please contact the SOPB at 360-902-0624 or SOPB@ofm.wa.gov.
