There are many ways you can support the work of AmeriCorps programs as they help to address locally-identified needs in communities across Washington State. Serve Washington can assist you in your philanthropic giving by connecting you to AmeriCorps programs located in your community or those that support the issues and causes you care most about. For more information, please contact Debbie Schuffenhauer at 360-902-0669. A few ways that you can contribute are noted below:

  • Financial Support
Cash contributions provide the greatest flexibility and often enable programs to expand your donation by purchasing materials from local merchants who may offer goods and services at a reduced price. In addition, cash donations help programs avoid the labor-intensive need to sort, pack, store, and distribute donated goods.

  • Matching Gifts
Many employers match gifts made by their employees or make grants to organizations recommended by employees. Your gift could be matched dollar for dollar and many companies offer matching gift programs that will double, even triple a donation's value. Check with your company or visit the Matching Gift Company to find out if your company will match your contribution. If you have questions about your company's matching gift program, please contact your personnel office.

  • In-Kind Goods and Services
Many AmeriCorps programs are seeking in-kind donations from individuals or businesses to support and enhance their AmeriCorps-sponsored service projects. In-kind donations can be items such as children's books, paint, tools, non-perishable food, clothing and other non-monetary items.

  • Volunteer
In addition to financial support, consider giving your time and skills. Not only will you help the organization, but you'll also make contacts, gain experience, and learn more about the charitable cause to which you're committing your time and money.

Thank you for your interest in exploring ways to meet your philanthropic goals while serving critical social needs.
