Change Management Program

The implementation of the financial and administrative changes that the Roadmap calls for will result in significant organizational challenges. A change management program will help build support and agreement among the staff and leadership about the goals of the Roadmap and the strategies to meet those goals. It will provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of agency impact.

Part of the change management program includes regular events to help staff envision the state’s future direction and collect feedback and advice on how to best implement change.

Over the past several months the Roadmap program office has organized a few events to help state executives, management and line workers understand options for future directions.

In March 2008, the Roadmap hosted a seminar for agency executives and managers on the potential uses of an Enterprise Resource Planning approach and the first-hand experience of local and state government officials who have implemented SAP.

Pat Phelan, an internationally recognized Gartner Group research director, provided an ERP overview, including what other states have done. A panel of local and state government officials from around the country discussed their experiences using SAP as part of their day-to-day operations.
