Notary bonds

As ORM has the authority to authorize state agencies to make direct purchases, it has established a procedure which allows state employees to purchase notary bonds directly from the state broker of record.

New appointment or renewal of existing notary public appointment

Please note that the process for a new or renewal appointment for a Notary Public will take three to four weeks to process. To expedite the process, it is important that the steps below are followed:

Notary bond

  1. Complete the application for the notary bond. An electronic copy of the bond will be sent to the email address you provide in the online application.
  2. Print and sign the bond that you receive via email.
  3. Use an agency credit card to purchase the bond ($50).

Notary certificate

Treasury and Treasury Trust Accounts:
Make electronic payment as follows:

Inter-Agency Payment (IAP) Vendor Number: SWV0011175-25
NOTE: Enter the employee's name in the vendor message field
-Or-
Journal Voucher: Agency 240 and Account 01P
(Journal Voucher should also be sent to Office of the State Treasurer to affect the cash transfer)
Send application and signed bond to:
DOL, Revenue Accounting, Mailstop: 48028

Local Accounts:
Make remittance payable to State Treasurer

Send application, bond, and $30.00 fee to:
Department of Licensing
P.O. Box 9048
Olympia, WA 98507-9048

Notary stamp

Applicant signature on the application and bond MUST BE IDENTICAL.
