About the 2011 data release
Small Area Estimate Program (SAEP) data for 2011 are now available. Estimates of total population, household population, group quarter population, total housing units, and occupied housing units have been updated using data that incorporates the State’s official April 1, 2011 estimates. Census 2010 population and housing values serve as the baseline for the estimates. The SAEP GIS layers utilize the most recent Census Bureau TIGER/Line shapefiles (TIGER 2010).
OFM recommends that users limit their analysis to a specific SAEP data release (e.g., Fall 2011) because: 1) the estimates for prior years may be updated when new or more accurate information becomes available, and 2) the estimates may change when changes to underlining geometries occur.
