The State Data Center Program

The State Data Center Program is a cooperative program between the states and the Census Bureau created in 1978 to make data available locally to the public through a network of state agencies, universities, libraries, and regional and local governments. The Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC) program was added in 1988 to meet the needs of local business communities for economic data. The Office of Financial Management (OFM) is the state agency responsible for administering these programs in Washington State.

For detailed contact information for the Washington SDC/BIDC coordinating agencies and affiliate members please consult the Washington State Data Center Directory. The organizations and contact persons play an important role in the release of 1990 census information. All members have a wide range of Bureau of the Census 1990 census data releases and summary data releases developed and distributed by OFM as well as the most current Census 2000 information. Many of the larger participating universities, regional councils of governments, and county planning agencies have developed publications suited to supply the data most requested by local constituents. Several organizations provide specialized computer processing to meet individual data needs.

Data Center contacts for other states are available at the U.S. Census Bureau website.

On this website you will find: Available on the Census Bureau website are:
