2002 Population Estimates by Age, Gender, Race and Hispanic Origin, Using the Office of Management and Budget New Classifications: State of Washington and Its Counties.
This is the revised 2002 population estimates by age, gender, race and Hispanic Origin. The file contains three separate sheets: 2002 Total Population Estimates by Age, Gender and Race; 2002 Non Hispanic Population Estimates by Age, Gender and Race; and 2002 Hispanic Population Estimates by Age, Gender and Race. The race distributions differ from the preliminary estimates developed in June 2002. Differences are especially large between preliminary and the revised estimates in the proportion of persons designated as multiracial. The primary reason for the decrease lies in the fact that the Modified Race File, rather than the regular census counts, is used as the bench mark year data. See the documentation for detailed explanation. Please note small numbers in the estimates do not imply precision. They are presented rather than suppressed in order to have all the characteristics add up to the total. (Developed April 2004; add to August 2004)
