SUBSECTION 6.2.4.1
USE OF INTERNAL CONTROL CHECKLISTS

6.2.4.1.1

General

Effective Date:

July 1, 1991

The risk assessment and internal control checklists in this section are by necessity very general in nature and relate to specific types of assets and activities. These checklists are intended to be a tool for agency use in risk assessment and evaluation of internal controls and may or may not apply to each agency's specific needs. In performing risk assessments and evaluating the system of internal control, agencies may use these checklists, or may develop alternative methods or checklists which are specific to their individual needs. Alternative methods or checklists developed by agencies are to include at a minimum the areas from the general checklists which apply to their specific situation. Alternative methods or checklists developed by agencies must be approved by the agency internal control officer prior to usage.
