Higher Education Per-Student Funding Comparisons
RCW 28B.15.068 directs OFM to define the 60th percentile of total per-student funding and tuition & fees at similar public institutions of higher education in the global challenge states for each four-year institution of higher education and for the community and technical college system as a whole.
The global challenge states are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia and Washington — the states ranking highest in the New Economy Index of 2002.
The U.S. Department of Education Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is the source of higher education finance data used for this study.
