POG Results and Indicators
As part of the Priorities of Government (POG) process, results teams are asked to develop indicators for each of the ten statewide results. These are meant to be high-level indicators that citizens might use to determine whether the state is making progress toward these results.
The data that is derived from recommendations of the POG results teams, along with additional analysis by the Office of Financial Management staff to translate indicators into quantifiable measures.
- Improve student achievement in elementary, middle and high schools
- Deliver increased value from postsecondary learning
- Improve health of Washingtonians
- Improve security of Washington's vulnerable children and adults
- Improve economic vitality of business and individuals
- Improve statewide mobility of people, goods, and services
- Improve safety of people and property
- Improve quality of Washington's natural resources
- Improve cultural and recreational opportunities throughout the state
- Strengthen state government's ability to achieve results efficiently and effectively

- The performance measure tables in this document contain the most current data available to OFM at the time of document production. These figures will be updated periodically for newer information.
- Although these measures help gauge the effect of state budget choices, it is recognized that many additional factors also influence trend data.
