How to procure
Specific dollar thresholds mandate the type of competitive process to use when a state agency needs outside personal (consulting) services.
- Competition is not required for contracts of <$5,000 but is recommended.
- Informal competition is to be conducted for personal services estimated to be in the amount of $5,000 to $19,999.
- Formal competition is required if the services will be $20,000 or more.
