Disaster Response & Recovery
Governor Gregoire believes the safety of the people of Washington comes first. We will demonstrate this commitment by the timely and comprehensive response to the December storm that had devastating effects on a number of Washingtonians. Our residents and communities expect and deserve a well-coordinated response after a disaster has occurred. The Governor proposes investments that will help low-income families and individuals, as well as small businesses, recover from the floods. The state’s response needs to be balanced with the responsibilities of those of the federal government.
