Capital Construction
Construction jobs created by Washington public works projects help families earn a living wage and boost our economy. The construction budget provides needed facilities, such as new schools and university buildings, to serve students and families for generations.
Governor Gregoire’s capital construction program supports more than an annual average of 1,267 jobs over the next four years. In the short run, these family-wage jobs help people pay the mortgage, buy a car and put their kids through college. In the long run, the facilities constructed support education and other services that are vital to our economy.
