Strengthen government's ability to achieve results efficiently and effectively
Indicator 5: Enhance Public Participation and Government Accountability
Measure a: Metrics from Elway Poll results
Description:
The percentage of voters stating that all or most of state agencies are accountable increased from 41% to 47%. While this is a promising trend, we can not say with certainty that it is significant as the difference is within the margin of error for the surveys (+ or – 5%). Nor do we have any information that we can use to justify what this change should be attributed to. In a different question, more respondents said state government agencies were getting less accountable (30%) than more accountable (19%).
While citizens reported that state government was more accountable, the percent of citizens reporting state government was effective dropped and percentage reporting government was efficient was did not change.
