Accounting Division
The Office of Financial Management (OFM) provides financial management direction to the state of Washington. This includes providing direction through state accounting policies and supporting state agencies with administering those policies through training and accounting services.
How We Are Organized
The Accounting Division within OFM maintains state government's central books of accounts while also providing accounting services to state agencies. The division is divided into two units: Statewide Accounting Services and Small Agency Client Services. We are committed to supplying superior products and services to our clients and the state. The following resources are available to you as a state agency accounting and financial management professional.
Statewide Accounting Services
Statewide Accounting Services' primary role is to issue statewide financial and administrative policies; provide financial consulting, monitoring, and training services; and produce statewide reports.
Small Agency Client Services
Small Agency Client Services' primary role is to provide comprehensive, cost-effective accounting services to state agencies, serving as their fiscal officer, financial advisor, budget officer, and a service coordinator.
More Information for the State Accounting Professional
Partnering with the Information Services Division, we also publish a quarterly newsletter, The Connection, which provides state agencies important information about OFM's accounting and reporting systems, policies, and services. Click here for back issues of The Connection.
